Last May, during our travels around Namibia, we encountered these so called feral or wild horses in the Namib desert near Aus. It is said that they are the offspring of some horses that escaped or were abandoned by German and/or South African troops during the first World War. - Yes, there was fighting going on in Namibia during the first World War. That is why they called it a world war. - These feral horses roam in a very small area, on the edge of the desert, and can be seen around the Garub waterhole, usually early in the morning. So we set the alarm at 4:30 and went out to meet them, and made a few photo's….
